The Logs
Developing this asset was the final component that needed to be added to the final scene. The process involved using a cylinder shape to carve out the inner sides to then extrude out a curved branch to replicate that of a tree. I have undertaken this technique before, having used it to develop the T-Rex arms and claws. I found the process to be faster than expected, which I put down to experience gained on this project. Once the first log component was completed, it required a simple copy and paste to allow development of the second more complex log.

Textures
Once the profiles were developed, UV unwrapping needed to be applied for allowing crisp textures. These textures are quite realistic. However, the top log circular surface needed a separate texture which had to be manipulated to each branch end because of the different sizes and shapes on each log.

SketchLab Components
Exporting to SketchLab Issues
Unfortunately there was a problem with exporting this asset. But the unreal engine 4 didn't have a problem with rendering the UVWs.
